Many survivors of sexual crimes and domestic abuse do not feel comfortable in the presence of biological males. That is why it is so important that rape crisis centres are single-sex. I was appalled to hear that the Greens tried to strip funding from Edinburgh Women’s Aid for operating as a single-sex service.
